Kohlrabi is a free workout tracker for lifters. No ads, no account, and a progression rule you can read. ## Free. Pen and paper are free. A workout log should be too. There are no ads, no trial and no account to log. The people who use it pitch in for hosting. ## Don't plateau. Progress. Pick a rule and Kohlrabi suggests your next weight for each lift. Tap a card to apply it. ## Rules you can read, not AI. Your last sets plus your rule give the next weight. It shows its working. The rule here is “RPE 7 or lower, add 5 lb”. You choose the rule. ## Warm-up in one tap. Tap Warm-up and the ramp sets drop in above your work sets. They are not counted in your totals. ## Share a workout as a link. Anyone can open it, with no account. Coaching clients? Send each client the program link. They train it free, with no app store download. ## Know what you lift Your best sets, plotted and flagged. ### PRs, marked in gold Beat your best weight or reps and the set is flagged. Also in the app: color themes, stages, and a 1RM that stays honest. Ready when you are. It is free and takes no sign-up. ## Switching from Hevy or Strong? Import your CSV, review every match, and undo the import in one tap. - Export a CSV from your current app. - In Kohlrabi, open Settings → Data → Import workouts (CSV). - Check each exercise match. Nothing joins your log until you confirm. (In testing) ## Trainer? Meet Kohlrabi Coach. Send programs to clients by link and see how they train. Join the waitlist. ## Questions ### Is Kohlrabi really free? Yes. The tracker has no paid tier, no trial and no ads. Optional tips pay for hosting. ### Do I need an account, and where is my data? No account to log. Signed out, data stays in this browser. A free account adds sync and share links via an emailed code. Settings, Data exports a JSON backup and CSV. ### Is it in the App Store? Not yet. Open kohlrabi.us and add it to your home screen; it opens full-screen like an app. ### Can I import from Hevy, Strong or MacroFactor, and export my data? Yes. In Settings, Data, import a CSV export from Hevy, Strong or MacroFactor, or a MacroFactor program sheet (.xlsx). You review the matches first, sets it cannot read are listed and left out, and Undo removes the import. Kohlrabi also imports its own CSV format, restores its JSON backup, and exports a JSON backup and a CSV of every workout. See the import guide. ### Does it work offline? Yes. Once loaded, you can log a whole workout with no signal. With an account, it syncs when you are back online. ### How do I install Kohlrabi on Android or iPhone? On Android, open kohlrabi.us in Chrome, tap More (⋮), then Install and create shortcut. Or tap Install Kohlrabi in Settings, About, when it shows. On iPhone, open it in Safari and tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. See Install the app. ### Does Kohlrabi use kilograms or pounds? Both. Pick Pounds or Kilograms in Settings, Display & Units; a Strong import can ask which unit its file uses. ### Does Kohlrabi have a rest timer? No. Kohlrabi has no rest timer, by design: it logs your sets and suggests your next weight. ### Does Kohlrabi work with Apple Health or Google Fit? No. Kohlrabi does not connect to Apple Health, Google Fit or other health apps. --- Source: https://getkohlrabi.com/trainers Title: Personal Trainer Software from $10/mo | Kohlrabi Coach In testing Kohlrabi Coach # Your clients don't want to download another app. And they won't have to. Join the waitlist and you'll get one email the day it opens. ### What does Kohlrabi Coach cost? Basic is $10 a month, Pro $25, Max $49. Pay yearly and get 2 months free: $100, $250 or $490. Every plan has unlimited clients and a 7-day free trial. Clients never pay Kohlrabi. ### Do I need a card for the free trial? No. When Coach opens, the 7-day free trial starts without a card. If you then pick a plan, billing starts when the trial ends. ### What does "fee on sales" mean? If you sell coaching or a program through Kohlrabi checkout, we keep this percent of each sale on top of Stripe's card fees: 10% on Basic, 3% on Pro, none on Max. Money you collect yourself is never charged. ### Do my clients need to download an app? No. Your link opens in the browser on any phone. They can add it to their home screen, but there's no app store and no password: they sign in with an email code. ### How is it different from TrueCoach, Trainerize or Everfit? Price follows your plan, not your client count. At 20 clients, billed monthly, Everfit is $49 and TrueCoach is $69.98 (checked November 6, 2026). Messaging is not built in. No AI writes programs or replies to clients. ### Can I bring my programs from a spreadsheet? Yes. Paste from Google Sheets, Excel or CSV; nothing saves until you approve the preview. See importing. ### Does it work for in-person clients and payments I collect myself? Yes. Add clients who don't use the app, put them on a program, log their sessions yourself, and send a view-only workout link that needs no sign-in. Mark a client Free or paid outside the app. Cash, Venmo and your own payment link are never charged. Pausing a client pauses their card billing. ### Is there messaging, and can I leave? Messaging is not built in, on purpose: you already text your clients, and Today shows who needs a message. You can leave any time. Export everything as spreadsheets in one ZIP, even after your plan ends. ## How quick it is. ### Import it Bring a spreadsheet or paste your lines. Check the preview, then save. ### Send the link Text or email your page link to a client. ### They are in Clients sign in with an email code. No app to install, no password. Muscles worked: Calves, Chest, Forearms, Glutes, Hamstrings, Lats, Lower Back, Middle Back, Quadriceps, Shoulders, Traps, Triceps ## What it is 5/3/1 for Beginners is Jim Wendler's three-day, full-body version of 5/3/1: each day has one main lift on the 5/3/1 wave, a second lift for 5 × 5 at the first-set weight, and assistance work, run in 3-week cycles. ## What you need You need a barbell, a rack, a bench and a pull-up bar. Before you start, you need a training max for the squat, bench press, deadlift and overhead press: about 90% of your one-rep max. ## The schedule Three full-body days a week in 3-week cycles. Each day: one main lift done with 5/3/1 sets, a second lift for 5 × 5 at the first-set-last weight, then 50-100 total reps each of push, pull, and single-leg or core assistance. Each week has three days: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The main-lift sets change each week of the 3-week cycle: Main lift and FSL sets, as % of training max Week | Main lift (5/3/1) | Second lift (5 × 5 FSL) 1 | 65% × 5, 75% × 5, 85% × 5+ | 5 × 5 at 65% 2 | 70% × 3, 80% × 3, 90% × 3+ | 5 × 5 at 70% 3 | 75% × 5, 85% × 3, 95% × 1+ | 5 × 5 at 75% The workouts Workout | Exercises (sets × reps) Monday | Squat 5/3/1; Bench press 5 × 5 FSL; Assistance (push/pull/single-leg or core) 50-100 reps Wednesday | Deadlift 5/3/1; Overhead press 5 × 5 FSL; Assistance (push/pull/single-leg or core) 50-100 reps Friday | Bench press 5/3/1; Squat 5 × 5 FSL; Assistance (push/pull/single-leg or core) 50-100 reps ## How progression works Run each cycle, then add 5 lb to upper-body training maxes and 10 lb to lower-body training maxes and repeat. The percentages keep the weights submaximal so you rarely miss. ## Missed reps Wendler's rule for missing the minimum reps on the last set is to reset the training max by 10%. ## The days - Monday Main lifts, first-set-last volume, and simple push/pull assistance. - Wednesday Deadlift 5/3/1, overhead press 5 × 5 at the first-set-last weight, and simple push/pull assistance. - Friday Bench press 5/3/1, squat 5 × 5 at the first-set-last weight, and simple push/pull assistance. ## Questions about 5/3/1 for Beginners ### What is a training max in 5/3/1 for Beginners? The number every set is worked out from: about 90% of your one-rep max. You need one for the squat, bench press, deadlift and overhead press before you start. ### What does FSL mean? First set last: the second lift of the day is 5 sets of 5 at the weight of the first set of that lift's 5/3/1 wave. ### When does the training max go up? After each 3-week cycle: +5 lb (2.5 kg) for upper-body lifts and +10 lb (5 kg) for lower-body lifts. ### How much assistance work is in 5/3/1 for Beginners? 50 to 100 total reps each of push, pull, and single-leg or core work per day. Days run 8 to 14 exercises, many of them in supersets. ## The schedule Six days a week for 8 weeks. Phase 1 (weeks 1-4) builds the base with high-volume pyramid sets; Phase 2 (weeks 5-8) pushes heavier. Most exercises run 5 × 30/12/10/8/6 pyramids with 45 seconds rest. Muscles worked: Abdominals, Biceps, Calves, Chest, Forearms, Glutes, Hamstrings, Lats, Lower Back, Middle Back, Quadriceps, Shoulders, Traps, Triceps ## What it is The Arnold Split is the six-day double split from Arnold Schwarzenegger's volume routines: chest and back, shoulders and arms, legs and lower back, each trained twice a week, with day 7 off. ## What you need It needs a full gym: barbell, rack, bench, dumbbells, cables, machines and a pull-up bar. Days run 7 to 11 exercises. ## The schedule Six training days: chest & back, shoulders & arms, legs & lower back - then repeat the rotation and rest on day 7. High volume throughout, around 3-4 sets per exercise. Chest and back work in the 6 to 12 rep range close to failure; shoulders, arms and legs use 10 reps. Muscles worked: Biceps, Calves, Chest, Forearms, Glutes, Hamstrings, Lats, Lower Back, Middle Back, Quadriceps, Shoulders, Traps, Triceps ## What it is GZCLP is Cody LeFever's beginner linear progression: four full-body workouts run three days a week, each with one heavy T1 lift, one T2 volume lift and one T3 accessory. ## What you need You need a barbell, a rack, a bench, a cable station and dumbbells. Each workout has three exercises. ## The schedule Rotate through four full-body workouts, three days a week. Every day has one heavy Tier 1 lift (5 × 3+), one Tier 2 volume lift (3 × 10), and a Tier 3 accessory (3 × 15+). Squat, overhead press, bench press and deadlift take turns leading the day. Four workouts over three days a week means the days roll over: week 1 runs Days 1, 2 and 3, week 2 starts with Day 4, and so on. In the table, a + means the last set is as many reps as you can. The workouts Workout | Exercises (sets × reps) Day 1 | Squat (T1) 5 × 3+; Bench press (T2) 3 × 10; Lat pulldown (T3) 3 × 15+ Day 2 | Overhead press (T1) 5 × 3+; Deadlift (T2) 3 × 10; Dumbbell row (T3) 3 × 15+ Day 3 | Bench press (T1) 5 × 3+; Squat (T2) 3 × 10; Lat pulldown (T3) 3 × 15+ Day 4 | Deadlift (T1) 5 × 3+; Overhead press (T2) 3 × 10; Dumbbell row (T3) 3 × 15+ ## How progression works Add 5 lb to T1 and T2 lifts each session you hit your reps (10 lb on squat and deadlift); add weight to T3 accessories once the last set hits 25 reps. When a T1 lift stalls, the program moves it to 6 × 2+, then 10 × 1+ - Kohlrabi repeats the weight and resets after three stalls, and you switch the rep scheme yourself. ## Stalls and stages The published program moves a stalled T1 lift from 5 × 3+ to 6 × 2+, then to 10 × 1+. A stalled T2 lift moves from 3 × 10 to 3 × 8, then to 3 × 6. ## The days - Day 1 One heavy lift, one volume lift, and accessories. - Day 2 Press heavy, pull for volume, row for balance. - Day 3 Bench heavy, squat for volume, pulldowns to finish. - Day 4 Deadlift heavy, press for volume, rows to finish. ## Questions about GZCLP ### How many days a week is GZCLP? Three. The four workouts rotate, so each one comes around every fourth session. ### What do T1, T2 and T3 mean in GZCLP? They are the three tiers of each workout: T1 is one heavy lift for 5 × 3+, T2 is one volume lift for 3 × 10, and T3 is an accessory for 3 × 15+. ### How much weight do you add on GZCLP? 5 lb on T1 and T2 lifts each session you hit your reps, and 10 lb on squat and deadlift. T3 accessories add weight once the last set hits 25 reps. ### What happens when you stall on GZCLP? A stalled T1 lift moves from 5 × 3+ to 6 × 2+, then to 10 × 1+. A stalled T2 lift moves from 3 × 10 to 3 × 8, then to 3 × 6. Muscles worked: Biceps, Calves, Chest, Forearms, Glutes, Hamstrings, Lats, Lower Back, Middle Back, Quadriceps, Shoulders, Traps, Triceps ## What it is Mentzer Heavy Duty is Mike Mentzer's Ideal Routine: four workouts, each 96 hours apart, with one all-out working set per exercise, most of them to failure. ## What you need You need a barbell, a rack, a bench, cables and machines. Each workout has 3 to 5 exercises. ## The schedule Four workouts, each separated by 96 hours of rest - add extra rest days as you get stronger and recovery demands grow. Every exercise is one all-out set to failure, often with intensifiers like forced reps. With 96 hours between workouts you train about every fourth day, so about two sessions a week. Day 2 (legs with a leg press) and Day 4 (legs with squats, advanced) are alternatives in the source; this version keeps both in the rotation. The workouts Workout | Exercises (sets × reps) Chest & Back (Day 1) | Pec deck (to failure) 1 × 6-12; Incline press, superset (to failure) 1 × 6-12; Close-grip palms-up pulldown 1 × 6-12; Deadlift (near failure) 1 × 6-12 Legs (Day 2) | Leg extension (superset) 1 × 6-12; Leg press (or squat) 1 × 6-12; Standing calf raise 1 × 6-12 Delts & Arms (Day 3) | Dumbbell lateral raise 1 × 6-12; Rear delt raise 1 × 6-12; Barbell curl 1 × 6-12; Triceps pressdown (superset) 1 × 6-12; Dip (or negatives) 1 × 6-12 Legs, Advanced (Day 4) | Leg extension (superset) 1 × 6-12; Squat 1 × 6-12; Standing calf raise 1 × 6-12 ## How progression works Beat the logbook: more weight or more reps than last session, every session. When progress stalls, the answer is more rest between workouts, not more sets. ## The days - Chest & Back (Day 1) Chest and back. One all-out set to failure per exercise, 4 total working sets. - Legs (Day 2) Legs. Pre-exhaust the quads with leg extensions supersetted into the leg press (or squat), then calves. 3 total working sets. - Delts & Arms (Day 3) Delts and arms. Laterals and rear delts, then curls and a pressdown/dip superset. 5 total working sets, every one to failure. - Legs, Advanced (Day 4) The advanced leg day. Leg extensions supersetted into squats, then calves. 3 total working sets. ## Questions about Mentzer Heavy Duty ### How often do you train on Mentzer Heavy Duty? Every fourth day: each workout is 96 hours after the last, about two sessions a week. Add rest days as you get stronger. ### How many sets per exercise are in Mentzer Heavy Duty? One working set, after your own warm-up sets. Most exercises take it to failure. ### What rep range does Mentzer Heavy Duty use on Kohlrabi? Kohlrabi's version sets 6 to 12 reps for the working set on every exercise. ### What do you do when Mentzer Heavy Duty stalls? Rest more between workouts. Muscles worked: Biceps, Calves, Chest, Forearms, Glutes, Hamstrings, Lats, Lower Back, Middle Back, Quadriceps, Shoulders, Traps, Triceps ## What it is Phrak's Greyskull LP is the r/Fitness wiki's basic beginner routine: two full-body workouts, A and B, alternated three days a week, with three lifts of 3 sets of 5 and the last set as many reps as possible. ## What you need You need a barbell, a rack, a bench and a pull-up bar. The wiki suggests running it for up to three months before moving to GZCLP or 5/3/1 for Beginners, with two short cardio sessions a week. ## The schedule Train three nonconsecutive days a week, alternating Day A and Day B. Each day is three compound lifts: 3 sets of 5, with the last set as many reps as possible. Week 1 runs A, B, A, and week 2 runs B, A, B. In the table, 3 × 5+ means three sets of five, the last one as many reps as you can. The workouts Workout | Exercises (sets × reps) r/Fitness Beginner Routine - A | Barbell row 3 × 5+; Bench press 3 × 5+; Squat 3 × 5+ r/Fitness Beginner Routine - B | Chin-up 3 × 5+; Overhead press 3 × 5+; Deadlift 3 × 5+ ## How progression works Add 2.5 lb to upper-body lifts and 5 lb to lower-body lifts every session. When a lift misses its reps two sessions running, Kohlrabi drops it 10% and you build back up. ## Stalls and resets The r/Fitness wiki doubles the weight step when the last set passes 10 reps, and drops a lift 10% when a session totals under 15 reps. ## The days - r/Fitness Beginner Routine - A Barbell row, bench press, and squat. Three lifts, add a little weight every session. - r/Fitness Beginner Routine - B Chin-up, overhead press, and deadlift. Three lifts, add a little weight every session. ## Questions about Phrak's Greyskull LP ### How many days a week is Phrak's Greyskull LP? Three days that are not back to back, alternating Workout A and Workout B. ### What does 3 × 5+ mean? Three sets of five reps, with the last set taken for as many reps as you can. ### How much weight do you add on Phrak's Greyskull LP? 2.5 lb on upper-body lifts and 5 lb on lower-body lifts every session. ### What comes after Phrak's Greyskull LP? Updated November 7, 2026 Weights are stored in pounds. Settings: Progression settings. ## Estimating your max ### Estimated 1RM weight × (1 + (reps + RIR) ÷ 30) The Epley equation with effort folded in. RIR = 10 − RPE. No RPE means RIR 0. Reps + RIR is capped at 15. Example: 100 lb × 8 at RPE 8 = 133.3 lb. ### Training max basis entered training max wins; else best same-range e1RM, capped at a lowered working 1RM ## Progression A program day progresses from its own history. The same lift on another day shares it only when the prescription matches. ### RPE-based progression reps + max(2, round(10 − RPE))  ·  at the top: load + increment × m m = 1 + (trigger − RPE) ÷ 2, capped at 2. - Gate: progress when the top-set RPE is at or under the Top-set RPE trigger (7, 8, 9 or Off; default 8). Otherwise the target holds. - Reps first: RPE 8 adds 2 reps, RPE 7 adds 3, RPE 6 adds 4. - Then weight: past the top of the range, load goes up and reps reset. With trigger 8, RPE 7 earns 1.5× the increment, RPE 6 or lower 2×. - Timed work: an earned step adds 2 time steps (+10 s by default). ### Linear progression load + increment, every session No RPE gate. Reps carry over, pulled into the range. A work set below the range repeats the load; a top set below it goes through Back into range. ### Back into range reps + whole RIR ≥ range min? keep load: e1RM ÷ (1 + (mid reps + RIR) ÷ 30) Linear mode, top set below the range. If reps + RIR reaches the minimum, the load stays; if not, it drops to fit mid-range reps. Example: 245 lb × 2 at RPE 7, range 6–12 becomes 205 × 9. Weighted bodyweight and assisted lifts hold the load and step reps. ### Load increments Weight: w + v  ·  Percent: w × (1 + v ÷ 100), to the nearest 5 lb (2.5 kg) Default increment: 5 lb. - Formula loads (%1RM, deloads, rebases) round to a multiple of your increment. - Dumbbells step to real weights (20 or 25 lb a hand, never 22.5). In kg: 2.5 kg steps from 10 kg, 1 kg below. ## Program loads ### %1RM target basis × pct ÷ 100, rounded to increment Basis: your training max basis. pct is the first of: the set's own %, the exercise's %, the week's stage %, the program's % of 1RM, then 75%. Range 1 to 100. Reps carry over from your latest top set. A 300 lb training max at 75% is 225 lb. ### Working 1RM offer = max(best of last 3, 90% × working, 80% × all-time best) Only when each of the last 3 hard sessions is 7% or more under the working 1RM, within 6 weeks. Applies when you tap Use. - Hard session: a work set at RPE 7+ and 10 reps or fewer. Off day workouts and deloads don't count. - Layoff: 4+ weeks off offers 5% lower, 8+ weeks 10%, never under 80% of your best. - At most one lowering per 6 weeks. Your best and PRs never go down. Screens: Working 1RM. ### Deload week normal load × deload %, rounded to increment Default 60%, between 40% and 80%. - Runs on a Deload stage week or after Deload this week. - Bodyweight reps scale, never below the range. - Stall deload: 3 stalled sessions at one weight bring a 90% suggestion, applied only if you tap it. ## Logging and stats ### Warm-up ladder snapping working weight × rung %, to the nearest 5 lb (2.5 kg) Working weight: your heaviest entered work set, or the suggested target. Default rungs: 40% × 5, 60% × 3, and with 3 rungs 80% × 2. See Warm-ups and supersets. ### Dumbbell weight stored total = 2 × weight per side Pair weight entry (Settings → Display & Units) is Per side (default) or Total. One-dumbbell lifts store the weight as entered. Volume and PRs use the total. ### Volume weight × reps, per work set, added up Warm-ups and distance work count 0. Muscle views give primary muscles 100% and secondary 45%; set counts give both a full set. ## Sources - Zourdos MC, Klemp A, Dolan C, et al. (2016). Updated November 7, 2026 ## %1RM Load as a percent of your training max; 75% default. The math. ## 1RM One-rep max: the most you can lift once. Kohlrabi estimates it from your sets. ## Deload A lighter week, 60% of normal load by default; never scheduled for you. Run a program. ## Don't progress Tag that stops progression: a set keeps its written target, or an exercise gets no suggestions. ## Estimated 1RM Your 1RM worked out from a set's weight, reps and RPE. The math. ## Focus What a workout or exercise trains for; sets its rep range: Strength 3–5, Hypertrophy 6–12 (default), Endurance 12–20, Hold, Custom. ## Increment What each step adds: a weight (default 5 lb) or a percent. The math. ## PR Personal record: heaviest weight, best weight at a rep count, most bodyweight reps, or longest hold or distance. Ties and warm-ups never count. ## Primary / secondary muscles Main movers and helpers. Secondary muscles get 45% of volume but a full set in set counts. The math. ## Rep range Fewest and most reps to aim for, like 6–12. An exercise's own range beats the workout's focus. ## RIR Reps in reserve: 10 minus RPE. Log it by setting Effort display to RIR in Settings → Display & Units. ## RPE Rate of perceived exertion, out of 10. RPE 10 means nothing left. ## RPE-based Adds reps to the top of your range, then weight, when the top set is at or under the RPE trigger (7, 8 default, 9 or Off). The math. ## Set tags Labels on a set: Warm-up, Dropset, Rest-pause, Full ROM, Slow and controlled, Cheat set, Paused, Assisted, Failure, Don't progress, and your own. Warm-up and Dropset sets never count as the top set; the rest are labels. ## Stage A focus over a run of program weeks, like three of Strength, then a Deload. Enable in Settings → Progression → Stages. Run a program. ## Timed work Exercises tracked in seconds, like planks; they progress by the time step (5 s default). ## Top set Heaviest completed work set of a session; ties go to more reps, then higher RPE. Suggestions read it. ## Training max A 1RM you enter for %1RM loads; else your best same-range estimate, capped at the working 1RM. The math. ## Working 1RM Caps the 1RM behind %1RM loads when you've entered no training max. Equals your all-time best until you accept a lower one. Updated November 7, 2026 ## What you can import Source | File Hevy | Workout export (.csv). Strong | Workout export (.csv). The preview asks kg or lb. MacroFactor | Workout history (.csv), or a program or workout sheet (.xlsx). Any app | A CSV in the Kohlrabi format. Kohlrabi | A backup (.json). MacroFactor's nutrition and body export isn't supported. ## Import a file - Open Settings → Data → Import / restore, or tap Import workouts in first-run setup. - Choose the file and check the preview. - Tap Import. Undo this import appears right after; later, Settings → Data → Undo last import. ## Review the matches Each exercise that needs you has a menu: Match: …, Create custom, Use existing exercise… or Skip. One choice covers every workout. - Workouts already in your history are pre-skipped. Untick Skip this workout to import one anyway. - Rows with a bad date or unreadable weight or reps are listed and left out. ## Your own CSV Use Download the column template on the import screen. Columns: date,workout_name,exercise,set,reps,weight_lb,rpe,tags,notes,duration_s. - Rows sharing date (YYYY-MM-DD) and workout_name form a workout. weight_lb is pounds. - tags takes set tag names separated by semicolons. - In set, W1 marks a warm-up and F a failure set. ## Backups and exports Settings → Data has Export data (JSON), a full backup, and Export workouts (CSV), in the columns above. To restore, choose the backup on the import screen and tap Restore backup. It replaces all your data, after two confirmations. Undo last restore works for 30 days. --- Source: https://getkohlrabi.com/docs/install Title: Install the app # Install the app To install Kohlrabi, open kohlrabi.us in Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android and add it to your home screen; it then opens full-screen, like any other app, and works offline. Updated November 7, 2026 ## Start a workout On the Workout tab, tap Start blank workout, Repeat last, or one of your Saved workouts. Tap the name or date to change it. The Live pill brings you back if you leave. From a blank workout to the library. ## Add exercises Tap + Add exercise, search or use Filters, tick exercises, then tap Add 1 exercise (counts your picks). Reorder exercises reorders, groups or deletes them. ## Log your sets Each set row has weight, reps and an optional RPE. For reps in reserve, set Effort display to RIR in Settings → Display & Units. - Grey numbers are your target, or last time's. Tick a set without typing to log them as shown. - A ticked set is locked. Tap the check again to edit it. - A decimal comma works: 62,5 logs 62.5. - An unreadable field turns red and blocks the tick. - + Add set adds a row. Swipe a set left to delete it (Settings → Appearance → Swipe to delete). ## Tags and notes Tap a set's number to tag it (Warm-up, Dropset, Failure, Paused); add your own under Settings → Exercise defaults → Set tags. Tags can change how a set counts: Set tags. Add notes is under each exercise. ## Finish Tap Finish workout. If sets are unticked, Review sets shows that sets with numbers count and empty ones are dropped. Confirm, or Keep editing. Discard deletes the workout after you confirm. The summary shows totals, muscles worked and PRs hit. From there: - Save to library or share it (Save and share). - Do again repeats it. - Edit workout or Delete workout. - Off day (when the workout has weighted sets) keeps a bad session from lowering your working 1RM. Its sets count elsewhere. ## Find past workouts Home → Recent workouts → See all, or the Workouts count on Stats. Tap a workout to open, edit or repeat it. --- Source: https://getkohlrabi.com/docs/programs Title: Run a program # Run a program To run a program in Kohlrabi, build one or start from a template on the Program tab, add saved workouts, and optionally plan its weeks with stages and deloads; finished runs stay for review. Updated November 7, 2026 ## Create a program Open the Program tab, tap + New program, then tap a template for your own copy or fill in Or build your own: - Set Program name, Length (weeks) (8) and Sessions per week (3). - Pick a Focus (Strength, Hypertrophy, Endurance, Hold or Custom). It sets the rep range for exercises without their own (Glossary). - Optional: Advanced: progression rules (options, modes). - Tap Create active program, or Save as saved program. Build a program, set its stages, or start from a proven plan. ## Add workouts On the program's page, tap + Add saved workout, pick from Saved or Past sessions, and tap Add. Or open an example program, such as GZCLP, Phrak's Greyskull LP or the Arnold Split, and tap Start (or Copy link to share it). Changed a workout mid-session? Tap Update program workout on the finished workout so future sessions match. History is unchanged. ## Stages A stage gives a week its own focus, for example three Hypertrophy weeks, a Deload, then Strength. - In the program form, tap Plan weeks with stages. (Settings → Progression → Stages enables them for every program.) - Tap a week's tile, pick a stage, and under Apply to choose that week or the weeks through the end. Stage | The week Strength, Hypertrophy, Endurance | 3–5, 6–12 or 12–20 reps. Hold | Keeps the weight. Deload | Usual reps at 60% of normal load. New stage | Your own rep range and Progress by; More options has target RPE and set changes. A week ends when its workouts are done or skipped, so missed days never skip a stage. After 10 or more days away, the next session offers Skip to week. The current week's card also has Deload and Skip; Skip leaves unfinished workouts undone, and on the last week completes the program. To run a different exercise in a stage, open the exercise's menu in an active-program workout and tap Variants. ## Deloads None is scheduled for you. Set a week to the Deload stage, or tap Deload this week on the program's page (Cancel deload undoes it). Stall deload: Progression suggestions. Math: Equations. ## Completed programs Archived programs move to Completed programs, marked Finished or Archived, with workouts done. View stats shows totals and PRs. Restart program begins again at Week 1 and keeps the old run. Restore returns it to saved programs. --- Source: https://getkohlrabi.com/docs/progression-settings Title: Progression settings # Progression settings Kohlrabi's progression defaults are in Settings → Progression, and a program, workout, exercise or single set can override them; the most specific setting wins. Updated November 7, 2026 ## Which setting wins Most specific first: a set's Don't progress tag, the exercise's Progression scheme, the program's rules, the workout's focus, then Settings. New programs copy your Settings. To stop suggestions: turn off Progression (or Progression for this program), set a workout's focus to Hold, or tag an exercise Don't progress. ## Settings → Progression Setting | Options (default) | What it does Progression | On, off (on) | Off stops suggestions. Last-session targets still show. Stages | On, off (off) | Stages for every program: Run a program. Working 1RM suggestions, Lower 1RM without asking | On, off (on, off) | Offer or apply a lower 1RM: Working 1RM. Progression mode | Linear, RPE-based, %1RM (Linear) | The rule behind suggestions: Progression suggestions. Top-set RPE trigger | 7, 8, 9, Off (8) | RPE-based: progress when the top set is at or under it. Off: finishing your sets is enough. Default focus | Strength 3–5, Hypertrophy 6–12, Endurance 12–20, Hold, Custom (Hypertrophy) | Rep range for exercises without their own. Editing Min reps and Max reps picks Custom. Increment type, Increment | Weight (lb) or Percent (%) (5 lb; kg if metric) | How far loads move: Equations. Hidden in %1RM mode. % of 1RM default | 1–100 (75) | %1RM: share of your training max. Time step | 5s, 10s, 15s, 30s (5s) | How far timed exercises move. Linear, the default: add the increment every session. ## Program, workout and exercise - Program form, Advanced: progression rules: the same mode, trigger, increment and time step, plus Progression for this program. When editing, More options adds a training max and load step per lift, Deload sets (keep all, three quarters, half) and When a lift stalls (after 2 to 6 stalled sessions, default 3, drop to 50 to 95% of the weight, default 90). - Workout focus: a rep range and Progression for exercises without their own. Use inherited settings clears it. - Exercise options → Progression → Progression scheme: Program default, Linear, RPE-based or %1RM. - Training max (%1RM): if Not set, loads use your best estimated 1RM in that rep range, capped by your working 1RM. Updated November 7, 2026 ## Save a finished workout Open it from your logs and tap Save to library (Start if already saved). Program workouts already live in their program, so they have no Save to library. ## Morning Push ## Share a link Tap the share icon next to a workout's name, Share program on your active program, or Share on a saved program. Making a link needs a free sign-in. Signed out, enter your email, tap Email me a code and type it; no password. Then Copy link, or Share… if your device has a share sheet. A finished workout shares its results and PRs; a saved workout or program, only the plan. Chat apps show a preview card. Share a workout. Your friend starts it without an account. ## Open a shared link No account or download. Custom exercises come with it. Try an example program. - Workout: Start workout trains it now; or just save it to my library keeps it. - Program: Start program makes it active; Add to my library saves it. With an active program, choose Set as active program or Save to library. Share a program: every workout comes with it. ## Links are public - Anyone with the link can open it (Privacy). - A link is a snapshot. Later edits don't reach it. - Short links (kohlrabi.us/s/ plus 8 characters) are deleted with your account; you can't delete one alone. - Offline, or short link fails? You get a long link with everything packed in. It outlives your account. --- Source: https://getkohlrabi.com/docs/suggestions Title: Progression suggestions # Progression suggestions Kohlrabi suggests your next weight and reps from the top set of your latest session in the last 8 weeks, using Linear, RPE-based or %1RM rules, and shows the set it read and when the target holds. Updated November 7, 2026 ## What you see An exercise with history shows a card: a label (Add weight, Add reps, Deload, Back into range and others), the target, and the basis (the set it read, its RPE and date). Tap it to fill every set with the target as a faded placeholder. What you typed stays. It then reads Applied ✓. (Add weight) 230 lb × 8 reps from 225 lb × 12 reps @ RPE 8 (Oct 28, 2026) Your next target, and where it came from. RPE-based mode may offer two cards: add reps, or take the weight step now. The reasoning is under the exercise's info, Progression. ## How the target is chosen - The session: your latest in the last 8 weeks. - The top set: the heaviest completed work set. Ties go to more reps, then higher RPE. Warm-ups and drop sets don't count. - Your mode: Mode | You move up when | What changes Linear | Every planned work set reached the bottom of your range | Weight + increment. RPE-based | Top set at or under the RPE trigger (default 8) | More reps first, then weight. %1RM | Every session | A percent of your training max or best estimated 1RM, capped by your working 1RM. In the example programs, StrongLifts 5×5 adds weight every session, and 5/3/1 for Beginners works from percentages of a training max. A day that spells out its reps (2×5, a 5/3/2 ladder) is its own target, and days that prescribe differently never share weights. Added load on dips and pull-ups goes reps first. Timed exercises move by your Time step; dumbbells step to real weights. Formulas: Equations. Settings and turning suggestions off: Progression settings. RPE-based: reps climb, then the weight goes up. ## When the target holds A hold repeats last time: no card, last session's numbers in the sets. It happens when: - RPE-based: your top set was above the trigger, or had no RPE (unless the trigger is Off). - Linear: a work set fell short of your range, or you did fewer sets than planned. A top set below the range gets Back into range or Add reps instead. - Hold is the focus or stage, or a set is tagged Don't progress. Three stalls in a row at one weight suggest a 90% deload. Nothing changes until you tap it. In a Deload week the card shows 60%: Run a program. If your sessions are sliding (best of the last 3 at least 5% under your 8-week best, or 4 each lower, 3% in all), no stall deload is offered and the basis says rebuilding: Working 1RM. --- Source: https://getkohlrabi.com/docs/the-app Title: The app at a glance # The app at a glance Kohlrabi has five tabs (Home, Exercises, Workout, Program and Stats) plus Settings and a Live pill for a running workout, and it works without an account: signing in only adds sync and share links. Updated November 7, 2026 ## Five tabs Tab | What's there Home | Today's workout, Recent PRs, working 1RM suggestions, Recent workouts Exercises | The library, with search and Filters Workout | Start blank workout, Repeat last, Saved workouts Program | Your active and saved programs (Run a program) Stats | Totals, muscle map, trends (Charts and stats) ## Settings and the Live pill The gear opens Settings; Search settings finds an option by name. While a workout runs and you're on another screen, a Live pill in the top bar returns you to it. ## No account needed Signed out, workouts stay on this device, and clearing browser data removes them. Export a copy now and then. No analytics or ad trackers (privacy). To | Go to Sync or share | Settings → Account: enter your email, tap Email me a code, type the 8-digit code. No password. Updated November 7, 2026 ## Add warm-up sets Tap Warm-up on an exercise. Rows tagged Warm-up (W) appear above your working sets with grey weights and reps. Tick to log them, or type your own. It also works in the saved-workout builder. ## How the ladder works Warm-up | % of working weight | Reps Set 1 | 40% | 5 Set 2 | 60% | 3 Set 3 (off by default) | 80% | 2 Working weight is your heaviest working set, else the suggested target; with neither, rows are blank. Rounding: Equations. Timed exercises ladder seconds. A new target moves the warm-ups too. Warm-ups don't count toward sets or volume and never become the top set, so they don't change your next target. Change it in Settings → Exercise defaults: Warm-ups sets the count (1 to 3); under Ladder, edit % of target and Reps. ## Supersets Alternate two or more exercises, such as a press and a row. - Tap Reorder exercises (needs two or more). - Tick the exercises to pair. - Tap Group as superset. The group gets a Superset 1 outline, and ticking a set scrolls to the partner. To undo: Edit superset, tick the group, Ungroup. --- Source: https://getkohlrabi.com/docs/working-1rm Title: Working 1RM # Working 1RM Kohlrabi offers a lower working 1RM for your %1RM loads after hard sessions or a long break, never below 80% of your best, and by default changes nothing until you tap Use. Updated November 7, 2026 ## Two numbers per lift - All-time best: your heaviest set's estimated 1RM. It never goes down. - Working 1RM: caps your %1RM loads when you haven't typed a training max. It equals your best until you apply a lower one. ## When a lower one is offered Case | When | Offer Hard sessions | Your last 3 hard sessions in 6 weeks each estimate 7%+ under it. Hard: 10 reps or fewer at RPE 7+. | Highest of the three, at most 10% lower. A long break | 4+ weeks off a lift you'd done 3+ times in the prior 12 weeks. | 5% lower after 4 to 8 weeks, 10% after 8+. Never under 80% of your best; one lowering per 6 weeks. Exact math: Equations. To leave out a bad day, turn on Off day on the finished workout. Why cautious: a tested 1RM varies about 4% [1], RPE is most accurate near failure [2], and strength holds about 3 weeks off [3]. ## Use, Keep or Undo Nothing changes until you tap Use. Keep hides the offer for 8 weeks. Why …? lists the sessions. After Use, the exercise page shows 1RM for %1RM loads beside All-time best, with Undo and a 1RM history card. A session that beats the lowered number raises it. Until then, basis lines say Rebuilding. ## Where suggestions show Stats → Suggested changes, the exercise page, and Home (with Review). In Settings → Progression, turn off Working 1RM suggestions to hide them, or turn on Lower 1RM without asking to apply them for you. ## Sources - Grgic J et al. (2020). Here are the highlights, what's coming next, and the quickest way to tell us when something breaks. Report a bug. Last updated November 6, 2026. (v2.7 · Coming soon) (Latest) These changes are in testing and reach the app soon. - Kohlrabi Coach has a new layout: Today, Clients, Programs and More. Coaches try it free with no card, and clients join in three short screens. - Add a client in one sheet. A client can train in person, be free, or pay you outside the app. Pausing a client pauses their billing. - Coach updates stay your call. If you changed an exercise, tap Keep my changes and the update works around it. - Paste a spreadsheet into Coach and 5/3/1 notation like 85%x5+ is read as written. RIR programs stay in RIR. - Start from a bigger library of ready-made programs, including Arnold, Mentzer and Phrak's GSLP. Links to a starter open it on your first visit. - Next-time targets follow your plan. Low-rep days and ladders are no longer pushed to 6-12 reps, and dumbbell jumps land on real dumbbells. - Assisted and weighted bodyweight lifts progress the right way. Warm-ups stay out of every total. - CSV import tells you about cells it could not read and can be undone. Sync merges edits from two devices, and an empty cloud copy never wipes your data. - The app opens faster, and links to a workout or program work on a first visit and offline. (v2.6 · November 2026) - A real desktop layout: on a wide screen the app, and Kohlrabi Coach, now lay out as a desktop interface. Printing gets the same treatment. - Stages work on every program, and a stage can carry its own workouts. Rest days and odd/even-week workouts can sit in the rotation, and you can reorder days. - The finish screen has a "Next time" block with your next target, worked out from the session you just did. - The exercise picker shows popular lifts first, then A to Z. Search understands gym shorthand ("db row", "pec deck") and more machine names. - Search and the exercise library are faster on slower phones. (v2.5 · November 2026) - Exercise pictures: how-to photos above the steps for 700+ exercises, plus illustrations for 20 more. They are on by default; turn them off in Settings → Display & Units; the pictures come from the app itself, so nothing is sent to a third party. - Completed sets are the only sets that count, on Home, Logs, Stats, exercise pages and shares. Warm-ups no longer inflate totals. - A "Week starts on" setting (Monday or Sunday) for Stats and Home. - Program weeks count sessions: set a sessions-per-week value and the week turns when that many sessions are done or skipped. - Sub-screens inside Workout and Program have their own URLs, so Back walks them in order and a reload returns you to the same screen. - One estimated 1RM per session on every screen, taken from the session's top set. - Hardware-keyboard shortcuts: 1 to 5 switch tabs, / jumps to exercise search, comma opens Settings. - Dumbbell suggestions in kilograms land on dumbbells that exist. Trap bar is its own equipment. Starter programs are back (Full Body, Upper / Lower, Push / Pull / Legs, a %1RM wave). - Sharing a program now shows how long it runs and its stage plan. Finished programs read "Program complete" on Home. - Kohlrabi Coach, the tool for personal trainers (programs, clients, plans and a public coach page), is built into the app. Its availability is on the Coach page. (v2.0 · October 2026) - Program stages: give part of a program its own rep range and rule (Strength, Hypertrophy, Endurance, Hold, Deload, or your own). - A welcome flow and a seven-card quick tour (Home → "Take the quick tour", or Settings → About). - Custom equipment for custom exercises, synced across devices. - Stats gains a "Finished programs" section, and a first desktop layout pass. - Share links now stay out of search engines and carry stage variants. (Earlier versions) - v1.93 to v1.99: import your history from Strong, alongside Hevy and MacroFactor. Muscle freshness shows when each muscle was last trained and its sets in the last week. - v1.92: a refreshed interface, single-side support, and progression engine updates. - v1.8: faster exercise adding, a finish dialog that keeps partial sets, and a standard barbell or dumbbell lift first in search. - v1.75: progression for sub-maximal sets, and suggestions that round to your increment grid. - v1.7: semi-open beta, opt-in auto warm-up sets, and a Start button on shared programs. ## Roadmap Native apps cost money; donate to make them happen. - iPhone app - Android app - Food and macro tracking - Your requests (submit a feature request!) ## Report a bug Tell us what broke and we'll take a look. Last updated: October 31, 2026. ## Coaching never interacts with AI If you choose to train with me, we will work together human to human, no chatbots involved. ## Progression is rule-based Progression suggestions come from your logged sets, rep ranges, RPE threshold, and the progression rules you choose. They are not generated by AI. Suggestions are optional and show their basis; you choose whether to use, change, or ignore them. ## Any future AI feature will be labeled If AI is added to an in-app feature later, this page will explain what it does, what data it uses, and how to turn it off where applicable. ## Blog posts Posts on the Kohlrabi blog are written entirely without the use of AI tools. No exceptions. --- Source: https://getkohlrabi.com/privacy Title: Privacy policy # Privacy without an account requirement. What data Kohlrabi collects and what happens to it. You can use the app without signing in - when you stay signed out, your workout data remains on the device and in the browser you’re using. The short version is in the cards below; the full policy follows. Last updated: October 31, 2026. ## Signing in is optional An account is only needed if you choose cross-device sync. The basic workout tracker works without one. ## Your device comes first Signed-out workout data is stored locally in your browser. Clearing browser data or changing devices can remove it, so the app includes a data export for backups. ## Share links are public A share link opens for anyone who has it - no sign-in wall. Don’t put anything in a shared workout you wouldn’t post publicly. ## You control deletion Settings → Data has export and delete-all. When you’re signed in, Settings → Account has delete account. You can also sign out and keep using the app locally. ## The full policy ## Data that stays on your device Without an account, everything you log is stored locally in your browser. It never leaves your device while you stay signed out. Clearing browser data, switching browsers, or changing devices can remove it, so use the Settings export for backups. ## Account information If you create an account, we store your email address to sign you in and operate sync. Sign-in is passwordless: a magic link or one-time code sent to that address. Those sign-in emails are delivered through Resend. ## Email updates When you sign in, your email address is added to our mailing list, run by EmailOctopus, with three topics: app updates, a newsletter, and app tips. All three are on by default. Turn any of them off in Settings → Marketing, or use the unsubscribe link in any email. Signed-out users are never added to the list. ## Kohlrabi Coach waitlist If you join the Kohlrabi Coach waitlist on the trainers page, your email goes on that waitlist only, run by EmailOctopus. We email you once, when Coach opens. Joining the waitlist doesn't add you to the mailing list above. ## Synced workout data When you’re signed in, your workouts, programs, settings, and preferences are stored with our database provider (Supabase) so they sync across your devices. ## Analytics The Kohlrabi app runs no analytics. This website (getkohlrabi.com) counts page views and button clicks in cookieless ways, both run on Cloudflare. Page views are counted through Cloudflare Web Analytics: which pages are visited, the referring site, country, device type and page speed. Button clicks: when you click a button, a link into the app or a link to our other pages (donations, coaching, the blog, GitHub), the site records the button’s text, where it leads, the page you were on and your country. It doesn’t record anything you type. Neither sets cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and builds no profile of you, and no IP address is kept with the counts. Visitors in the EU aren’t counted by either. Button clicks also aren’t counted when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. ## Share links Share links (kohlrabi.us/s/…) are public by design. The link carries the workout or program being shared - its exercises, sets, and targets - so anyone with the link can open it. A copy is kept on our servers so link previews render. There is no expiry and no sign-in required to open one. ## How we use your data Your data is used to operate the service: signing you in, syncing your workouts across devices, rendering share links, and responding to messages you send us. That’s it - no advertising profiles, no data brokerage. ## What we don’t do We don’t sell your personal data. We don’t run third-party ad trackers. We don’t collect anything you don’t give us: no location, no contacts, no health-app data. No workout data is given to any AI model for training. See the AI disclosure page for exactly how AI is and isn’t used. ## Service providers We use a small set of third parties, each for one job: Cloudflare (hosting, edge delivery and website analytics), Supabase (database and authentication), Resend (sign-in emails), EmailOctopus (the mailing list), and Letterbird (the bug report form). They process your data only to provide those services. Donations are handled entirely by Buy Me a Coffee; we don’t see or store your card details. ## Bug reports If you report a bug through the form on the What's new page, the form is run by Letterbird and whatever you include reaches us by email. Reports may also become GitHub issues. Please don’t include passwords or other sensitive information. ## Coaching inquiries Messages sent through the coaching inquiry form are used to respond to you about training. They aren’t added to any marketing list. ## Data retention Local data stays until you delete it. Account and synced data is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account removes your synced data and the share links you created right away; backups may persist briefly. The short version is in the cards below; the full terms follow. Last updated: September 14, 2026. ## Use the app responsibly Kohlrabi is a workout logging tool. Don’t use it to break the law, interfere with the service, or harm other people. ## Training isn’t medical care Workout logs and progression suggestions are informational. They don’t replace medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. ## Your content stays yours You retain ownership of the workouts, programs, notes, and other content you create. Sharing a link gives its recipients access to the shared item. ## Availability and changes The app may change over time and occasional interruptions may happen. Material changes to these terms will be posted clearly. ## The full terms ## The service Kohlrabi is a free workout-tracking web app and website. Coaching is a separate service arranged directly with the coach; the app stays free whether or not you train with one. ## Who can use it You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian’s permission. ## Your account, your responsibility Signing in is optional. If you create an account, keep access to your sign-in email secure - you are responsible for activity under your account. Don’t share accounts or let others log workouts as you. ## Acceptable use Use the service for lawful, personal purposes. Don’t interfere with the service, try to access other people’s data, abuse shared infrastructure, or use the service to break the law. ## Your content You own the workouts, programs, notes, and other content you create. To operate the service, you give us a limited license to store, sync, and display that content back to you and to anyone you share it with. Sharing a link gives its recipients access to the shared item. ## Not medical advice Workout logs, progression suggestions, and any training content are informational only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Talk to a qualified professional before starting or changing a training program, and stop and seek care if something hurts. ## Coaching Coaching services are separate from the app and arranged directly with the coach. Pricing, scheduling, and cancellation for coaching are agreed between you and the coach, not through these terms. ## Donations Contributions are voluntary and non-refundable. They support the work but don’t create a service obligation or change what the app offers. ## Beta software The app is in beta. Features may change, break, or disappear, and data loss is possible. Export your data regularly from Settings as a backup. ## Our intellectual property The app, site design, and original copy belong to Kohlrabi. Exercise library data is attributed to its sources on the credits page. You may not copy or resell the service itself. ## Changes and availability The service may change over time and occasional interruptions happen. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes. ## Suspension and termination You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service. What happens to your data is covered in the privacy policy. ## Disclaimers The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. ## Limitation of liability To the extent permitted by law, Kohlrabi is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. ## Changes to these terms Material changes will be posted on this page with a new last-updated date. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept them. ## Governing law These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. ## Contact Questions about these terms?
